My inspirations for my project are The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and Van Gogh's Starry Night. I might animate it depending on the time I have to do it.
What do you like about The Little Prince? Anything you DON'T like about it? Have you done any research about the background of the book and the author?
I like how everything is a metaphor. While reading it, I feel like I know what it represents but it's actually bigger than or totally different than what I though it is. I haven't found anything I don't like about it. The author, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, was a pilot. He left the air force after being engaged with Louise Lévêque de Vilmorin and took an office job. The engagement broke off and he started piloting airmail. He was reinstated to his old squadron with the provision to only fly five missions on 31 July 1944, but he did not return.
Yes the story is more interesting because of the author's life/ death. I'm curious to hear how you'd interpret this famous story after 60 years. Animation could be one genre that's not suitable in this course, but plenty of other options.
